Established in the mid 1990’s in Sydney, ABPs driving focus was to become the leading provider of biomedical and medical animations to the broader healthcare sector. Over time, business demand has seen our service offering evolve into an eLearning specialist company. ABP Learning provides total eLearning solutions to a wide range of clients in the healthcare sector.

Meet Our Team

Destry Sloane

Destry Sloane

Chief Executive Officer
Des has been CEO at ABP since the company’s inception in 1995. With hands-on responsibility for all functional areas within the company, Des directs the daily operations of ABP Learning with a vision for innovation and a commitment to first-class communications and project delivery.

He is experienced in both strategic and tactical management and highly-proficient in the day-to-day management of eLearning projects of any size. With a background in Law and Law Enforcement, Des brings a “forensic-like” approach to managing the business.


Martin Hale

Martin Hale

Creative Director & Lead Animator
Martin has been with the company since its inception in 1995. His key responsibility is ensuring the delivery of all major animation and eLearning projects. Martin is responsible for the technical and creative direction of the company and has instituted a number of major technical upgrades over the years.

He has a Master of Art degree from the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales where he majored in Computer Graphics. Martin also has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (2014) and has taken post graduate studies in Project Management.

His work has been recognised internationally including the Magnum Cum Laude, Medikinale International, Munich Germany and the Prix Leonardo Parma, Italy, for animation on a documentary series titled Genetics (2000). He won Best Overall at the Australian Institute of Medical and Biological Illustrators Awards in 1999. His work has been featured on the covers of Newsweek (USA) (Special edition: Summer 2005), Nature Biotechnology (July 2009), Cancer Cell (Feb 2020) and on internationally syndicated television for Super Surgeries (Discovery Health Network, Australia 2003) and 60 Minutes (Nine Network, Australia).

Recently, he has been involved in multi-module eLearning solutions for international education publishers, pharmaceutical companies and continuing medical education organisations that include animation, interactivity and complex accessibility requirements.


Sam Hill

Sam Hill

Technical Lead
Sam has worked with ABP since 2012 providing expertise in eLearning technologies. He has over 15 years’ experience in web and eLearning development which has exposed him to a broad range of technologies.

Sam has specialist skills in SCORM/AICC and LMS/content connectivity. He has developed eLearning courses for desktop, tablet and mobile devices using HTML/JavaScript/CSS and Edge Animate, as well as authoring tools such as Lectora, Captivate and Articulate Storyline. He also has expertise developing to the WCAG (AA and AAA) for health departments and financial institutions. Sam also has extensive experience in managing local and offshore eLearning development.


Joanne Crestani

Joanne Crestani

Business Development & Project Manager
Joanne brings over 20 years’ experience in sales, marketing and project management in the pharmaceutical industry. She has a background in developing and producing education programs for healthcare professionals and has worked in medical education for over 15 years. Joanne has a Master of Management degree from Macquarie Graduate School of Management with a major in Marketing.
